Alien
The pencil on my iPad has been giving me trouble for months, and rather than buy a replacement, I chose to get a whole new tablet. I now have a Wacom Movinkpad Pro 14, a tablet purpose built for art. It has a textured screen! The stylus has buttons and no battery! It is a high fidelity, low latency, independent art tablet built on the Android platform.
Because the art apps I have been using are iOS-based, I am trying to find drawing/painting apps that work for me on Android. First up is Clip Studio Paint, a demo of which is included with the tablet. There’s a lot going on with the app, and I am far from an expert. I couldn’t even figure out how to name my drawing — it exported as “Illustration.png”!
The drawing is of the Alien xenomorph. I actually kind of winged it through the pose and angle. I did better than I expected, but looking in the cold light of a new day, I can definitely see problems. I don’t hate it, though. Another horror movie icon. I have a couple more I want to do.
